Sometimes you don’t want the full page—you want a clean, precise rectangle (a chart, a section, a paragraph, or a UI state).
TL;DR
- Use Selected Area to capture exactly what you need.
- Export PNG for crisp UI/text, JPG for smaller files, PDF for print/share.
- Zoom matters: bump Chrome zoom if text looks too small.
The easiest method: Selected Area in Lliben
- Open the page in Chrome.
- Open Lliben and choose Selected Area.
- Click-and-drag to select the exact region.
- Your capture opens in Lliben Capture, where you can crop/annotate and export to PNG/JPG/PDF.
Tip: If you’re capturing a UI tutorial, use the Steps tool in Lliben Capture to add 1-2-3 markers after you capture.
Tips for cleaner results
- Zoom matters: if text looks too small, increase the browser zoom before capturing.
- Avoid blurry UI: capture at your normal display scaling (Retina/HiDPI is fine).
- Use PNG for UI/text: it keeps edges crisp.
When to use a different mode
- Need one component (button/card/chart)? Use Element Picker.
- Need the whole page? Use Full Page.
